NVIDIA's GTX 1050 2GB card was launched in October 2016 and is part of NVIDIA's new Pascal architecture family. Compared to the older Maxwell series (e.g., GTX 750 Ti, GTX 950, GTX 960), this card is built on a 14nm manufacturing process, which gives it up to three times better performance-per-watt efficiency.
The card's unique feature is that it operates on just 75W of power, and most variants don't require an additional power connector—the card draws power directly from the PCIe slot. This makes it a very popular upgrade option for systems with older or low-wattage power supplies.
Performance and Architecture
The GTX 1050 has a base clock of around 1354 MHz and a boost clock of 1455 MHz, while factory-overclocked variants (such as the MSI Gaming X, Gigabyte OC) can even reach boost clocks of 1518-1556 MHz. The card features 640 CUDA Cores, 40 texture units, and 32 ROPs.
